Pictures to come soon. My apologies for lack of web presence, but between my new job as supervisor for PerceptIS and my new son, I might be a wee busy.
Wishlist Links
Writing from a different computer, so I don't have all of my regular tools for bookmarking. Here are four links I came across for creating a good wishlist for your winter holiday this year. No longer does Amazon have a lock on the list.

Open Letter to a Gun Advocate
Initially meant to be a reply to another blog post, I found it to be too lengthy for a comment thread. I instead decided to make this a general blog post for public view. The remainder is the reply.
There will likely be no prouder moment as a parent...
Than the day that my daughter came to me and said "I, Jack, the Pumpkin King, have grown so tired of the same old thing."
Nerd Update - Family Module is a Go
Here's some news from my world of complete geekiness. First, I am glad to say that I FINALLY have what I consider to be a fully functional family tree module for Drupal. I have been working on getting a version together that allowed record creating and relationship assignment. Couple that with a nice import feature to bring in files from other family tree programs and you have one pretty darn cool Drupal app in my opinion. I have MANY more features and tweaks I would like to add, but this marks a HUGE milestone in functionality.
I Am Jane
I was very pleased to find out today that my friend Harry posted our Indie film on YouTube that we made over 4 years ago now. I have reposted all the parts here. It gives me a great feeling to see it again and to now have it easily available for others to see. Without further ado.
If you only ever do one thing for me...
Vote for my friend's coffee shop in this best of Cleveland contest. I don't care that you don't drink coffee. I don't care that you've never been there. I don't even care if you're trying to overcome a childhood trauma that involved coffee. Do it. Do it for your country. Be an American! Be a patriot! Do it or else the terrorists win! Do it for the starving children of the world!!! Curse it all!!! Have you no decency? No shame? Have you no pity for the huddled masses across this evil world of ours?
Quick Update
This is about all the update I have time for right now. Luckily, I have been very busy at work. So busy in fact, that they have decided to hire me on Full Time! We've been talking about some options here and there. Some portion, I'd still be working from home. Some portion I'd be working at the CWRU location. The most exciting part for me is that I would be doing web design (Drupal and non) as one of my primary responsibilities. Oh, and tomorrow will mark one week without cigarettes. Wish me luck to keep it up!
The Discipleship of Drupal
I thought I would revive my blogging drop off after the last heavy topic, with a simple list. I'm planning on upgrading all my websites to Drupal version 6 soon enough. In order to do this, I must ensure all of the contributed modules I use have made it there first. This is probably one you can skip, unless you're part of the discipleship.
- Acidfree Albums - my photo album module - the module developer is currently working on the 6.0 version.
- ACL - used for additional ACL in forum - OK
- Actions - customized actions triggered by events - Integrated into CORE - OK
I have a module.
Family is it's name-O. Family Tree 2 to be exact. Yes, this is what I've slaved for many months over. And likely for many months to come. I'm glad to finally have a semi-working version of it though. Anyhow, here's a link to it's homepage. I'm off to look more at it's code. http://drupal.org/project/family
You can always count on my own self absorbed nature...
To bring you another blog entry about my band! Another show this past Saturday. This time at the Chalet Debonne winery. 4 hour set. Basically four shows. The first three were great. The last one blew in my opinion. Songs worth mentioning were:
- Ring of Fire
- Fields of Athenry
- Irish Rover
- All for Me Grog
- Worst Day Since Yesterday
- Johnny Cash - The Circle ? (O the circle, won't be broken, by an by lord, by and by...)
- John Riley's Polka.
If a band has a great show, and nobody's there to see it...
Did they still make a sound? Another excellent show, this time at The Grogshop We probably had 9 folks there to see us, and 15 that came for the headliner. This should be expected for a Wednesday show, and we were doing it more so that the Grogshop could see us. Shtreiml was a great band to play with. Every single one were excellent musicians, and the harmonica player was fantastic. Overall, it was a great show, and I guess it was enough that WE were there to enjoy it.
At least everything was...
Until I managed to kill my home Linux box. Oh well. How am I supposed to learn about Ubuntu if I don't reinstall it a few times right?
On hold
As in everything is until I get this Drupal Family module that I'm working on completed. Nuff said.
Slipped a Bit
The Amazing Rondini Brothers played our second show at the Enclave coffee house. It was an excellent show for me and I had loads of fun. As of now, I am tired and recovering. That's all I've got.
I Love / Hate Open Source
It works for this, then it doesn't work for something else. It works, and then someone issues a patch that breaks it. It works, and then you try something new and it never works again. Sometimes I feel I may have been better off with things like Microslop, where at least I knew they were deliberately out to mess me up.
Bathtime fun with baby.
Bathtime, naps, and dirty diapers are gold to parents. The first two are almost self explanatory, but the last may seem questionable if you have no kids. In fact there are possible some parents who may scratch their heads when faced with this statement.
Blogging the mundane...
Part of regular blogging means writing even when there's nothing significant to write about. Hence I present to you...
The Paper Cut of Doom and The Neon Blue Coffee Pot
Drama aside, I gave myself a paper cut two days ago. It was a rather nasty one as far as paper cuts go.
- It was rather deep, maybe 2mm? I'm not very good at estimating measurements.
- It was done by a long strip of wax label backing paper.
- It's on a rather inconvenient spot on my right pointer finger, just underneath the knuckle, on the left side.
From the never ending mire of activity...
This is an attempt to begin a regular blog. One of probably 20 other such attempts. I am becoming amused with my ability to create websites that even I find little interest in using. I am currently up to 8 I believe. Here comes a self-indulgent list:
1) http://www.idkd.net/ - this site you yuckles.
2) http://www.kfol.org/ - A wiki made out of Drupal.
3) Drukebox - A private site for listening to all my ripped CD's wherever and whenever I want to.
4) http://dowill.kfol.org/ - A site not once used by the friend who requested I create it.
Human Evolutionary Music Project
I just realized that I posted almost exactly the same entry as my last one FIVE years ago in my Livejournal. http://pyutaros.livejournal.com/1009.html#cutid1 Zis ees sad me friends. My ability to communicate what I think has progressed zero in five years. It's tragic.
